One of the toughest exams in the country, the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024 was scheduled to be conducted on May 26. However, now this exam has been postponed. The Commission has also issued a notice regarding this on its official website.
UPSC conducts this exam every year to select officers for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and other officers. This exam is conducted at various examination centers across the country.
UPSC said, “In view of the impending general election schedule, the Commission has decided to postpone the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination – 2024, which will now be held on 16-06-2024 instead of 26-05-2024. This examination also serves as the screening test for the Indian Forest Service Examination, 2024.
Clashes with the schedule of the Lok Sabha elections:
The UPSC Civil Services Preliminary Examination was scheduled to take place on May 26, which clashes with the schedule of the Lok Sabha elections. Therefore, the decision to postpone the UPSC Civil Services Examination has been made. This year, general elections are being held in the country. Just two days ago, the date for the Lok Sabha elections was announced. The Lok Sabha elections this year will be held in seven phases. The Lok Sabha elections of 2024 will run from April 19 to June 1, 2024, and the counting of votes will take place on June 4, 2024.
